  • DUE TO THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND THE GOVERNOR'S EXECUTIVE ORDER OF NO ORGANIZED GROUPS LARGER THAN 5, SPRING PROGRAMS WILL BEGIN FRIDAY MAY 1ST.

I hope you are all well.  All of us at the Parks and Recreation Department thank you for your patience during this time.  These have been challenging times for us all as we adjust to the pandemic that is COVID-19.  We remain positive and optimistic that we will get through this and return to our favorite day to day recreational activities.

In following with the Governor's Executive Order in effect until April 30 of no organized group gatherings of 5 or more people, the Parks and Recreation Department will further delay the start of the Spring Programs until Friday May 1st.  Our office hours will remain Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (CLOSED 5pm-10pm MONDAY - FRIDAY / CLOSED SATURDAY & SUNDAY)

Please see Spring Program FAQ's below to help answer any questions you may have.
    • What does this mean for registered participants for Spring programs?  This means all programs will look to begin on Friday May 1st.  If a program you have registered for cannot be run in its entirety due to time constraints,  a credit will be applied to your account for the days that could not be made up.  For example, if a Health Fitness class is originally 13 weeks but we can only run 10 weeks of class, a credit will be applied for the 3 weeks missed.  This credit can be used for any future program registration.  IT DOES NOT EXPIRE!!!!  Individual emails for specific programs and information will go out next week.
    • My child is registered for Lil'Rec'ers Pre-School.  When will classes resume? Classes will resume on Monday May 4th.  A credit for the missed 8th week will be applied to your account for future programs.  If by chance Session 4 does not happen, a credit or full refund for Session 4 will be granted.
    • Is Spring Stingers April Vacation Camp still happening?  Unfortunately the ever popular Spring Stingers April Vacation Camp will be canceled.
    • Will Adult Slow Pitch Softball be playing this season?  The hope is we are back out on the fields with games beginning Mid May.  We will still aim for an 18 game season with divisions possibly playing twice a week.  New dates for managers meeting and ID's will be announced.
    • Are you still accepting summer registrations?  YES.  We are currently accepting summer playground, hoop house basketball, sports camps and STEM Camp registrations.  You can do it from the comfort of your home at www.wallingfordrec.com.

If you have any questions that were not answered above, you can reach out to the office at (203) 294-2120 or email us at parksrec@wallingfordct.gov.

Stay safe, stay healthy and we will see you all again soon.
